Mary von Aue is a writer and editor living in Brooklyn.

Born in New York City, she has lived in six countries, a district, and a territory, but is still trying to shake the accent.

Mary holds an M.A. from Columbia University and a B.A. from University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Her academic career focused on Arabic literature, both classical and contemporary. She is currently a contributing editor at Warscapes, an independent online magazine that provides a lens into current conflicts across the world. Her writing can be seen at The New York Times, Billboard, VICE, The Week, and elsewhere.

Mary also performs sketch comedy in New York. She writes and acts in Venn Diagram Comedy and is the co-founder of Shrill Films, a production company for women in comedy.
